Villa Fleur de Lys is an 8-bedroom, friendly, family-owned hotel on the south east coast of Zanzibar, overlooking the barrier reef and a wide expanse of the blue Indian Ocean. The views are simply breath taking.

During the day, you can watch the local boats glide by and the fisher-women gather the daily catch. At night you can sit under a canopy of bright stars. At high tide, the sea splashes against the cliff edge of the garden and the steps and you may sit at the hotels edge on the local seat (baraza) and allow yourself to be mesmerised by the waves and ocean breeze.

The Villa was built by positioning all the bedrooms with maximum ocean views. The view of the spectacular sunrise from the bedrooms and balconies is enhanced by large floor to ceiling windows. The Villa on the ocean side is enhanced by majestic African wood balconies. At low tide private steps from the hotel lead directly to our small coral and sandy natural beach. From here, you may walk 300m to a long unspoilt palm-fringed white sandy beach where swimming is possible at low or high tide.
