AMREF Flying Doctors Evacuates Garissa Gun Attack Victims
Following the Easter weekend terrorist attack on Garissa University College in Northern Kenya, AMREF Flying Doctors joined the government of Kenya and other disaster response organisations in one of the biggest operations since a similar attack on Westgate Shopping Mall in Nairobi.

AMREF Flying Doctors airlifted 26 of the critically injured patients who included eighteen students and eight police officers – all carried out in six flights.The eight police officers were evacuated under the new National Hospital Insurance Fund enhanced medical evacuation cover for Civil Servants and Disciplined Forces.

The 18 students were evacuated at no cost under the AMREF Flying Doctors Charity evacuation scheme. The AMREF Flying Doctors medical team was charged with assisting the Garissa District Hospital with triage and identifying the critically injured of the victims for onward evacuation to Nairobi for further specialised treatment.

Launched!  Inbound Insurance Cover with Terrorism Clause

Kenya is regarded to be more prone to certain risks and some countries have advised their Citizens from traveling to some parts of the country.
