At a glance

Among many areas of interest in this Kenya Safari include Tsavo West National Park, which features a vibrant volcanic arena; molten lava that formed the Shetani lava spewed from the earth about 200 years ago, with its fiery fury once thought by locals to be the work of the devil. For nature lovers, further exploration would be your ideal activity since Amboseli National Park explicitly offers insights into different habitats, ranging from the dried-up bed of Lake Amboseli, wetlands with sulphur springs, to the savannah and woodlands.

To the east is Tsavo East National Park, covering 13,747 square kilometres. Situated in a semi-arid area once known as the Taru Desert, it opened in April 1948. It is home to the famous legend of the Tsavo lions, known as the “man-eaters of Tsavo,” as well as Lugard’s Falls on the Galana River, along with other rivers crossing this park. Large crocodiles and pythons love to travel down these waterways, as it allows them to avoid hauling their incredible weight over land.
