Tsavo West National Park offers some of the most magnificent game viewing in the world. Attractions include elephants, rhinos, hippos, lions, cheetahs, leopards, buffalos, and diverse plant and bird species, including the threatened corncrake and the near-threatened basra reed warbler.

From the bulk of Africa’s highest peak, Amboseli National Park is a place for nature lovers, where one can explore five different habitats ranging from the dried-up bed of Lake Amboseli, wetlands with sulphur springs, savannah, and woodlands. Visitors can also meet the local Maasai community who live around the park and experience their authentic culture.

Tsavo East National Park forms the largest protected area in Kenya and is home to most of the larger mammals, including vast herds of dust-red elephants, rhinos, buffalos, lions, leopards, pods of hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks, lesser kudu, gerenuk, and prolific birdlife featuring 500 recorded species.



Detailed Kenya Safari itinerary

Day 1: Tsavo West National Park, Severin Safari Camp (Fullboard)

You will be picked up from the hotel at 05:00 after an early breakfast and depart for Tsavo West National Park, arriving before 10:00. You shall enter the park through Tsavo River Gate for game viewing drives until lunchtime at the camp at 13:00. In the afternoon, you will depart at 15:30 for an evening game drive covering different parts of the park, including the spectacular Mzima Springs, where fifty million gallons of crystal-clear water gush out from beneath parched lava rocks, creating one of the most welcoming and beautiful scenes in Africa. Later, you will return to the camp for refreshments at 18:30, followed by dinner at 19:30, and overnight stay at the camp.

Each tent comes with an en-suite bathroom, running hot and cold water, and a shower, ensuring a comfortable stay while still experiencing the wild beauty of Tsavo. The tents are ideal for those seeking an intimate connection with nature without compromising comfort.

Days 2: Amboseli National Park, Oltukai Lodge (Fullboard)

In the morning, you will depart after tea or coffee and a snack at 06:30 for a morning game drive, which hopefully will allow spotting a leopard, as it is a nocturnal animal, along with many other wildlife species. You will then return to the lodge for a full breakfast at 08:00.

Thereafter, you will depart for Amboseli National Park, where you shall arrive in time for lunch at 13:00, followed by an afternoon game drive from 15:30. You will then return to the lodge for refreshments at 18:30 then dinner at 19:30 and overnight stay.

During this afternoon game viewing drive, you could participate in the optional activity at Amboseli National Park, where you will meet a Masai family, mostly women who sell ornaments and curios. They will also demonstrate their deep affection for their homestead, called a Boma, which consists of round huts made of sticks, mud, and cow dung. Children will be joyfully singing with their mothers, expressing their natural hospitality to visitors. Despite the current mandatory school attendance, some Masai children may be reluctant to attend due to strong cultural beliefs. These include the importance of cattle as a measure of wealth and the tradition of marrying at a young age, often when they are just entering their teenage years. Please note this activity is purely optional and incurs an additional cost of US$30.00, organized by your driver-guide.

Day 3: Tsavo East National Park, Satao Camp (Fullboard)

Early in the morning on this day, you will depart at 06:30 after tea or coffee and a snack for a morning game drive at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. This drive is essential for the possibility of spotting nocturnal animals that are rare, as well as many other animals. You will then return to the camp for a full breakfast at 08:00.

After breakfast at 08:30, depart for Tsavo East National Park, entering through Manyani Gate or Voi Gate to begin a game drive until lunchtime at the camp at 13:00.

In the afternoon, from 15:30, you will spend time in the wilderness, roaming various parts of the park until for refreshments at 18:30 then dinner at 19:30 and overnight stay.

Day 4: Kenya Coast

Early this morning, you will depart at 06:30 after tea or coffee and a snack for a morning game drive, with the possibility of seeing rare nocturnal animals as well as many others. You will then return to the camp for a full breakfast at 08:00. Later, you will be driven to the Kenya coast with enroute game drive to check out of the park through Buchuma Gate to arrive at your hotel in at around 18:30.
