This safari follows a well known Safari route, headingto the Rift Valley where some of Kenyas best known lakes are found. The safari then moves onwards to Western part of Kenya to the Kakamega forest, the only pure tropical rainforest  in Kenya before heading to Nyanza and Kogelo where Obama’s father was born. On the way back, the trip will take a detour through the Maasai Mara for a true experience of the wildlife.

DAY 1

The first day of this safari in Kenya begins early morning in Nairobi at 07:00, the journey is approximately 1 hour to Naivasha town our first stop. On arrival you will go boat riding to Crescent Island for about 15 minutes. The private game sanctuary is host to zebras, wildebeests, gazelles, vervet monkeys, genets, waterbucks and the giraffe. Over 300 species are also found here and the highlight of the tour is the walk among the animals not restrained by fences or a top van roofs. This is the height of a true Kenyan Safari.

Lunch is served at Lake Naivasha Sopa resort, a four star lodge where the meal plan will be full board.

After lunch you can either visit Elsamere Conversation Center which holds memoirs of the late Joy Adamson of Born Free fame or relax by the pool or better yet go fishing in the Lake, at an extra cost. As dusk sets to signal the end of day 1 of the Kenyan Safari, you can enjoy dinner at the Sopa Lodge while watching the stars glitter in the skies above and afterwards retire for the overnight stay.

DAY 2. NAKURU NATIONAL PARK, NAKURU LION HILL GAME CAMP, 4* MEAL PLAN IS FULL BOARD

Day 2 of the Safari in Kenya begins with an early breakfast after which you depart for Lake Nakuru. Famous for thousands of flamingo birds among other bird species, Lake Nakuru that sits right in the middle of Nakuru National Park is a must visit. The lake is surrounded by warthogs, waterbucks, buffaloes and reedbucks and the very elusive leopard. The white and black Rhinos are also found at the park and your tour will definitely be actioned packed.

You will have dinner at the Lake Nakuru Lion Hill Game Camp, rated four stars with a full board meal plan. You will be spending the night here when night fall checks in.

DAY 3. KAKAMEGA FOREST, RONDO RETREATS, 3* MEAL PLAN IS FULL BOARD

On Day 3 of the Kenyan safari you will set out for Kakamega Forest after breakfast en-route to Lake Victoria that neighbours Kogelo, Obamas homeland. At the Kakamega forest you will be treated to a guided walk through the only mid-altitude rain forest in Kenya. Home to over 300 bird species and over 350 tree species the forest that is a remnant of the Central African Forests is also home to 400 butterfly species and 27 snakes classified as docile snakes.

It doesn’t end there, other animals you are likely to see in this Safari include the flying squirrel, DeBrazza monkey, the blue and white colobus monkey and the potto which makes the guided walk truly memorable. When evening comes, dinner will be served at the 3 stars rated Rondo retreats. The meal plan will be full board at this retreat where you will spend the night.

DAY 4. KOGELO VILLAGE & KERICHO, KERICHO TEA HOTEL, 3* MEAL PLAN IS FULL BOARD

On Day 4 of safari you will depart for Kogelo after breakfast. The village was catapulted to the limelight after President Obama was confirmed president of the USA. Today the village receives hundreds of visitors on a daily visit and although visitors don’t have free access to Mama Sarah Obama’s(the President’s grandmother) homestead like before you will still have a glimpse at this humble dwelling.

The village has a primary school, health center and high school named after the president. You will mingle with locals and get to experience the welcoming and genuine smiles of Africans. Thereafter in the afternoon you will drive to Kericho famous for vast tea plantations. You will be staying at the Kericho Tea Hotel, a 3 star rated hotel with a full board meal plan.

DAY 5. MASAI MARA GAME RESERVE, MARA LEISURE CAMP, 4* MEAL PLAN IS FULL BOARD

On DAY 5 you will set out for a Kenya Safari MASAI MARA GAME RESERVE. The journey will stop at the Talek River inside the Mara where you will have lunch. Thereafter an afternoon drive that will take you for a safari around the park to see the amazing lions and cheetahs in action until dinner time will end Day 5 programs.

The overnight stay will be at the Mara Leisure Camp, a 4 star rated retreat. The meal plan will be full board.

DAY 6. MASAI MARA GAME RESERVE, MARA LEISURE CAMP, 4* MEAL PLAN IS FULL BOARD

Day 6 begins with an early morning breakfast followed by a Kenyan safari drive to explore the expansive reserve. You will take a lunch break at the camp before resuming the drive in the afternoon. Masai Mara has a dozen animals all adding value and excitement to Kenya Safaris. Get to see elephants, grey jackals, spotted hyenas, warthogs, cheetahs, lions, wildebeests and zebras, hippos plus many more animals on this safari in Kenya.

When evening sets in, you will retire to the camp for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 7. BACK TO NAIROBI CITY, LUNCH AT CARNIVORE RESTAURANT, 4*

The last day, DAY 7 starts with an early breakfast after which you will begin the journey back to Nairobi to arrive in time for lunch at the carnivore and afterwards dropped at either the city center or the airport to mark the end of your safari in Kenya at 16:00 hours.
